Registration & Eligibility
To register for Varsity Esports or related activities, you may be required to provide:
Full name
Email address
Phone number
Student number
South African ID or Passport number
Eligibility criteria:
You must be under the age of 26 to play in Varsity Esports.
You must be a registered student as per the USSA Bona Fide definition.
All information provided must be complete, accurate, and up to date. Varsity Esports will not be held responsible for issues arising from false or outdated user data.
Submission of registration does not guarantee participation in the tournament, acceptance is subject to confirmation by tournament administrators.
POPIA Compliance – Protection of Personal Information
Varsity Esports and its partners comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), Act 4 of 2013.

Student and identification detials

Contacting you regarding tournament participation

By registering for and/or participating in Varsity Esports, you consent to being:

Featured in promotional content across Varsity Esports and Mettlestate Channels
All content (including but not limited to photos, videos, and designs) captured during the tournament remains the property of Mettlestate and may be used for:
Marketing and promotional campaigns
Commercial purposes
Event reporting and archiving
You grant Varsity Esports and its partners a perpetual, royalty-free licence to use such content across any media platforms.
Tournament Code of Conduct
All participants must treat other players, staff, hub owners, and spectators with respect.
Prohibited behaviour includes, but is not limited to:
Harassment or abuse (verbal, physical, or online)
Cheating, hacking, or using prohibited software
Unsportsmanlike conduct
Violation of the code of conduct may result in:
Immediate disqualification
Removal from the event
Bans from future Varsity Esports tournaments
Tournament Structure, Rules & Changes
All players agree to abide by the official Varsity Esports ruleset, as provided before the tournament.
Varsity Esports reserves the right to:
Modify schedules, match formats, or rules if necessary.
Reschedule matches in the event of technical or operational issues.
Any major updates to the tournament or these terms will be communicated to users via the website or email.
Liability Disclaimer
Varsity Esports, Mettlestate, and associated partners are not responsible for:
Technical issues with equipment, networks, or platforms
Personal injury, loss, or damage to property during participation
Costs incurred through participation in the event
Players participate at their own risk and are responsible for their own equipment and internet connection.
